Each year Welland Junior Football Club organises a "World Cup Day (WCD)" where all members/players of the Club are invited to play in a league based 5/6/7-a-side knock out competition in their relevant age groups.
Points are awarded for a win or a draw and teams progress to a semi final and ultimately onto the final. Inter league games are played for 5 minutes each way and the final played for 7 minutes each way. Penalty shoot-outs are common to decide on eventual winners. This is a great way of seeing the whole club together at one venue and the Gallery links on the left provide links to the photos over many years.
Also on the day the following presentations are made:
- Manager's award in each age group
- Players' Player of the Year Award for League Teams
- Junior Clubman selected from the Under 11 non league players
- Senior Clubman Award form the Under 16 players
- John Craddock Award (Under 14s)
- Spitalfield Shield
- Girls Shield
